Mother's Day dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Young were Mrs. Metta Weston and Mrs. Letha Smyth. Mrs. Eileen Craw of Cedar City spent Mother's Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Willyard. Mrs. Max Baxter (Iona) spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. Sophie Bruno of Ma-roni, Ma-roni, Utah, mother of Iona. Saturday evening they attended attend-ed the Annual Mother and Daughter Banquet, held at the Maroni LDS Csurch. The ladies were catered to by the husbands hus-bands and fathers. Mrs. Brwio was honored as the grandmother grandmo-ther with the most .grandchild ren, hers numbering 67 from the youngest to the oldest. She returned home with her daughter, daugh-ter, Iona, for an extended visit. Congratulations Mrs. Bruno! W. James (Bobby) and son, Tommy spent Mother's Day weekend in the northern part of Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Nate Smith and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy James and Mr. and Mrs. Danny James of Sycrus. Tommy has entered the hospital for further treatment treat-ment on his broken ankle. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Posey and family of Salt Lake, spent Mother's Day at the home of Mrs. Irene Posey. Charles Williams of SUSC spent Mother's Day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. I. Williams and sister Wendy. He will graduate in June and has been awarded a scholarship in economics a.nd will continue his schooling at Utah State in Logan to complete his Masters degree. Mrs. T. T. Williams and daughter Wendy were in Cedar Ced-ar City last week on business. Mr. and Mrs. Don Lindsay and family of Tooele, Utah, spent Mother's Day with Mrs. Lindsay's parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. Waddoups. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson, Thomp-son, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Blackburn, Black-burn, enjoyed a two week vacation va-cation to Billings, Mont, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Edwards, children ot the Blackburn's and grandchildren grand-children and great-grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson. Whjile there they attended church and the blessing bless-ing of their two youngest great-grandchildren. i Mrs. Ethel Smith spent Mother's Day weekend with her son, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and family in Cedar City. They toured Southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hughes of Redding, Calif, and Connie and Lynnette Hughes, students at BYU were guests of Mrs. J. M. Hughes last week. Mrs. J. M. Hughes was in Salt Lake Wednesday and Thursday to see her grandson off to London, England where he will be on mission. Hazel Hoore was selected as KBRE's Mother's Day Queen for May 5th. A promotion by the Cedar City radio station. A Mother's Day dinner was given by Mrs. Rosalie Cook for her mother at the Hong Kong Cafe. Those present were her |
