All troops cel. brated "Thinking Day" on Feb. 22 by sending Thinking Cards to girls in other troops, and a donation I to the Juliette Lowe World Friendship Fund. The girls expressed appreciation apprecia-tion to the Milford Lions Club for paying the $1 per girl for troop insurance. GIRL SCOUT WEEK STARTS SUNDAY The Girl Scouts of the USA will celebrate their 58th anniversary anni-versary during Girl S out Week. March 8 thru 14. Girl Scout Week begins with Girl Scout Sunday. March 8. Girl Scouts were founded with 18 members in 1912 and have now grown to more than 3 million and nearly 1 million adult members. The purpos: is to inspire girls with the honest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service serv-ice so that they may become happy and resourceful citizens. Membership is open to all girls from 7 thru 17 who accept the Girls Scout Promise and Laws. Adults, both men and women, are eligible for membership, and are needed for program consultants, leaders, committei members, camp helpers, and many other positions of voluntary volun-tary leadership. The annual Girl Scout cookie sale will be held March 7 to 14. This will be an order-taking sale only, and delivery of the cookies will be made the week of April 10 to 18. The Milford Girl Scouts will participate in Girl Scout Week and the cookie sales. |
