FORTY-FIVE YEARS AGO February 5, 1926 Mrs. H. Dennis has rented the north half of the Williams building and is fitting it up Very attractively. Mrs. Dennis plans to handle millinery, ladies lad-ies ready-to-wear, dressmaking and marcelling. Costume Ball The Catholic ladies will give a costume dance at the Arion Monday night, February 15. Cash prizes will be given for the best costumes, but those not in fancy costume will be allowed to dance. THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AGO February 6, 1936 SCHOOL NOTES Third Grade We are studying about boats. In a book I read about a ship that was called Joanna. It surely was a good story Douglas Den.ny. Fourth Grade The first car came to Mil-ford Mil-ford around 1906. It was owned by a Mr. Smith. He took the people to Beaver for three dollars. dol-lars. His car looked very funny fun-ny to the cars we have today. Genevieve English. This is the story of the first well in Milford, Utah. It was where Jefferson's store now stands. The people had to line up and wait their turn before they could get water or even water their horses. The well was made of rocks. There was one big bucket for everybody to draw the water up from the well. They had a big water trough for the freighters to water their horses. Anna Christensen. |
