Show .a . . U ) Dear Ed: I'm here at my mother's, Mrs. Bill Baker for the evening before be-fore leaving for California where she will visit with us. I read your column concerning concern-ing the apathy by the school coach and principal and your fine editorial and you are my kind of a man. Several years ago I offered via a letter to the bishop, to pay for all the paint to repaint the exterior of the church, which had become a discredit to the community, and to buy trees to landscape the church lot. I received no reply to my letter and when I wrote a second sec-ond letter, I received the same treatment. I was raised here, (in Milford) Mil-ford) helped build the church as a boy, helped plant the trees that have turned Milford from a barren desert town into an oasis and have maintained constant con-stant touch through my annual visits to my father, when he was alive, and my mother. I was president of the graduating grad-uating class of 1936 from Milford Mil-ford High and have been active in our class reunions with Mrs. Kirk and others. I still have some roots here. Your attempt to "get people with it" has my sincere support. Ira afraid you are going to Dear Editor I was very shocked when I read your article in the Beaver County News last week, concerning con-cerning the garbage crew. I did not realize that we had men of this caliber working for our city. In checking with the members mem-bers of the crew, I found out that they had confronted you with this, and you had told them that it was only a joke!1 You may have lacked material ma-terial to fill space in your newspaper, but making practical practi-cal jokes about the crew's character char-acter is a poor way of doing so, and to me is not news at all. I wonder how the Utah Press Association would rate your Editor's column if they were to read this "joke." I also wonder just how much truth can be read into the rest of the things you print. Do I have to sit and analyze each article and decide if it's a joke or not! I feel you owe the garbage crew a personal and printed apology. A concerned citizen and reader. read-er. Keith E. Erickson P.S. A note to the garbage crew, "I appreciate your efforts ef-forts In the job your doing." Eds Note: Thanks, I Needed That! Read "Between You and Me" which was written before we received your letter. Monroe, Utah P. O. Box 162 Dear Sirs: Who, if anyone in Milford could answer questions about Frisco and Newhouse? And that reminds me, was really glad to see a new fence around the Frisco cemetery. Sincerely, Roger Simon Ed's Note: We have informed Mr. Simon of places where research re-search material is available, but thought others of our readers read-ers with first hand knowledge, might wish to write him. We were pleased to see the new fence around the Frisco cemetery ceme-tery and also the shelter house and picnic area which the state highway dept. has built near the entrance to Frisco. The "News" is also interested in acquiring ac-quiring all the information possible pos-sible about Frisco and New-house New-house and the Milford area, including pictures, which will be compiled and published during dur-ing our centennial year, 1973. have to hit them over the head with the proverbial 2x4 to get their attention, but it can be done.
