Show LLOYD LISTS REVENUE SHARE FOR COUNTY Rep. Sherman P. Lloyd, It-Utah, It-Utah, said that Beaver County would receive $49,826 in revenue reven-ue sharing funds under a bill which the House is expected to take up early in May. Beaver County government will receive $31,141 under the bill, with the remaining $18,685 to be split up among the municipal muni-cipal governments i.n the county coun-ty The entire state will get a total of $29 million in the first, year if the bill is enacted, with $8.8 million going directly to the state government and over $20.2 million being split up among local governments. The committee's versio.n of the bill authorizes a five-year program which appropriates a total of $5.3 billion to state and local governments during its first full year, Lloyd said. During the first year, the committee's proposal allocates $1.8 billion to state governments govern-ments on the basis of tax effort. ef-fort. A total of $3.5 billion is distributed to local government units according to need as determined de-termined by population, urbanized urban-ized population and relative per capita income. The Act provides virtually every city, county, village, town and township in the county with fiscal assistance. assis-tance. Rep. Lloyd said the proposed legislation places no restrictions on state government spending, but requires that local units channel funds into law enforcement, enforce-ment, transportation and environmental envir-onmental protection programs. |
