SHEARING TIME DRAWS YOUTH TO WAH WAH It was sheep shearing time at the Wah Wah Ranch and Mr. Limb and Mr. Fisher, fifth and sixth grade teachers ot the Milford Mil-ford Elementary thought it would be a good excursion for their students, so last Friday they loaded up in the big school bus and joined John Winch, owner, and Boyd Coates, manager man-ager of Wah Wah and their herders, and watched as Mario Morales shearing crew went to work on the 4300 head on the ranch. It was educational, it was fun and it smelled a little bit, but the kids didn't seem to mind. The News tagged along, to get a few pictures of the youngsters and also to find out about sheep ranching at the Wah Wah. He said they had a 20 lamb loss last year largely due to predators, and they went into the winter range with 4,500 head. Coyotes mostly most-ly managed to get away with 40 head out of one herd in about a month, before state predator controllers could stop Continued on Back Page One of the 18 shearers who were working at the Wah Wah Ranch last FYiday.
