Show KEW TEEHAGE RECIPE SEARCH ANNOUNCED " t s r 1 I '-Afc- - -J Teenagers with a flair for creative cookery may look forward to an exciting ex-citing week next summer devoted to study and travel. The second Royal Recipe Search open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, offers awards of study in Paris or New York for winning entries. The search which closes April 1, 1965, can be entered by submitting an "original touch" recipe made with any of the Royal Puddings and Pie Fillings or Gelatins. Next summer the top award winner will receive a one-week travel and study trip to Paris to attend a special session at Cordon Bleu, famed cooking school. Five runner-up winners will be given trips to New York City to attend a one-week session given by James A. Beard, noted author and gourmet. Typical of the recipes eligible. for the Royal Recipe Search is the following: CRUNCHY PEAR SALAD 1 package (3-ounce) Royal Spiced Pear Gelatin 1 cup boiling water Yi cup cold water 1 cup commercial sour cream Yi cup (8-ounce can) diced, drained canned pear halves Yi cup undrained crushed pineapple Ya cup chopped Planters Pecans Dissolve Royal Spiced Pear Gelatin in. boiling water. Stir, in cold water: Chill until slightly thickened. Beat in sour cream until thoroughly blended. Stir in diced pears, crushed pineapple and chopped Planters Pecans. Pour into a 1-quart ring mold. Chill until firm. To serve, unmold. If desired, garnish as illustrated by filling center of ring with lettuce and surrounding the outside with canned pear halves and pineapple slices, mint sprigs and whole pecans. Makes 6 to 8 servings or 1-quart ring mold. |
