Show FISH AND GAME BUYS LAND NEAR ASHLEY FOREST The Utah Department of Fish and Game has taken another big step forward in its program pro-gram to safeguard the future f the state's unexcelled deer hunting. Purchase of 4,518 acres of land adjoining the Ashley National Na-tional Forest was made possible pos-sible under terms of an agreement agree-ment entered into by the Utah Department and the Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, S Department of Interior. The land, part of the Avinta-quin Avinta-quin deer winter range, provides pro-vides wintering range for mule deer as well as public use and hunter access. Because it abuts Ashley National Forest, it makes access to the deer hunt-tag hunt-tag areas of the national forest for-est easier. Total cost of the land acquisition acqui-sition is estimated at $54,225. The Department of Interior Wildlife agency will reimburse the state for 75 of the total cost. |
