Show TOWN GETS FREE CHRISTMAS LIGHT POWER FROM U PL Utah Power & Light Co. will provide free electricity to light up some 75,000 lamps this holiday hol-iday season the company's traditional Christmas gift to cities and towns where the firm's distribution lines run. Clair J. Hadley, UP&L's Tel-uride Tel-uride Division manager, said the gift service will be available avail-able between dusk and midnight mid-night from Nov. 27 to Jan. 1, for holiday decorations installed in-stalled on city streets and parks as community projects. Mr. Hadley said the company also will run necessary service wires to connect the installed lights to the ptility's lines. Free Christmas lighting to communities where customers are served directly by the company is a long-standing custom with Utah Power. Last year, the utility provided almost al-most 400,000 kilowatt hours of free electricity to illuminate some 75,000 holiday lamps in 148 cities and towns. Of these, 5,000 bulbs were lighted in 25 communities in South - Central and Southern Utah. |
