Show SCS ISSUES MONTHLY REPORT Clear, dry and warm October Octo-ber weather made deer hunting hunt-ing very comfortable and en-joyablie, en-joyablie, but not very successful. success-ful. The hunter success was rather poor in this neck of the woods, but all hunters had a good outing. No precipitation was recorded record-ed for the month of October, either at Beaver or the Big Flat rain gauge. The average October precipitation at Beaver Beav-er is 0.99 inches. Last year only 0.07 was recorded for the month. The Johnny Grass Seed project proj-ect was again carried out by the Beaver S C D. The District purchased 1,000 packets. The Forest Service provided the erass seed, which was prin- cipally intermediate wheat-grass, wheat-grass, smooth bromegrass and crested wheatgrass. The First Ward Boy Scouts packeted the seed. . The packets were distributed dis-tributed to the deer hunters by local merchants, and we: hope the hunters did a good job of planting the seed. The Beaver Soil Conservation District Dis-trict Supervisors wish to thank everyone who helped make this project a success. About 54 acres of land lev eling was completed during the month by Ted Rimpau, W. M. Blackner and Leo Mayer; 3800 linear feet of concrete ditch lining was installed on the Ray Bradshaw and Ron Bradshaw farms. Another 2500 feet of ditch lining will be installed in-stalled shortly by W. M. Blackner Black-ner and H. Naruse. Donald Baldwin and Leon Paice have land leveling jobs ready for construction. Requests Re-quests for several other leveling level-ing jobs have been received, but the staking and surveying has not been completed. |
