Show DEMOLAY HOLDS MILFORD MEETING By BILL MYERS On Saturday, May 23, in the Masonic Temple there was a gathering of youths and adults who, by being present, showed their interest for the welfare and benefit of the youth of today to-day and of the future. The occasion was the formal introduction of the International Internation-al Order of DeMolay into the southern portion of Utah by showing a film, "The DeMolay Story," narrated by John Cameron Cam-eron Swayze, who himself was a DeMolay and is now a Senior DeMolay. After the film, a discussion dis-cussion took place with ques- tions also being asked. The film was brought down from Salt Lake by Ralph E. Bowers, Executive Director of the Grand Lodge Youth Committee Com-mittee of Utah, and three other advisors. The discussion was carried on by Robert W. Moore, Executive Officer for DeMolay in Utah. The purpose of holding this meeting was to begin a DeMolay De-Molay Chapter in Southern Utah serving the communities of Mil-ford, Mil-ford, Cedar City, Richfield and Fillmore. About DeMolay: The International Order of DeMolay is a youth organization organiza-tion for boys between the ages of 14 and 21. The DeMolay movement was founded in 1919 by the late Frank S. Land, in Kansas City, Mo. It started with a group of nine high school boys. Today, nearly three million men have passed thru the portals of DeMolay De-Molay and knelt at its altar. The purpose of DeMolay is to build better citizens, and the Order does so by offering a boy four things: A wholesome occupation for his spare time; worthwhile associates; the best of environment; an interesting and complete proram of all-around all-around youth development. When a boy joins DeMolay he need not fear that he will be subjected to 'horseplay," embarrassment, em-barrassment, or ' ridicule; for these things have no place in the DeMolay intiation. There are two degrees he will reecive. The Initiatory Degre is on of great solemnity and dignity. It is a service of consecration in which he dedicates himself to unfaltering love of God, Home, and Country. The DeMolay Degree is one of dramatic intensity and depicts de-picts the great lesson of fidelity. fidel-ity. Each DeMolay Chapter is sponsored by a recognized group of Masons. DeMolay is in no way, however, affiliated with the Masonic institution, nor is it a junior Masonic organization. organiza-tion. Masonic sponsorship enables en-ables DeMolay chapters to have dependable, consecrated leadership leader-ship and the use of Masonic buildings to house DeMolay activities. ac-tivities. There is so much more important im-portant and beneficial information informa-tion about DeMolay that it could not be put into any one newspaper or magazine article.
