Show Mrs. Nolder Feted On 83rd Anniversary A family get-together celebrated cele-brated the 83rd birthday of Mrs. Amanda E. Nolder at her home in Minersville, Friday, March 30th. A dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock, their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Armstrong and children Donald and Pamela of Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Am-brose Dalton and son Paul and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pryor of Beaver; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Williams, Sallie Lee and Stephen Ste-phen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Atkin and sons Todd and Jeff of Milford; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pryor and children of Minersville. Two friends, Mrs. Albateen Roberts and Mrs. Ada Davie, called during the evening. Mrs. Nolder was born March 30, 1879, in Saltsburg, Penna., to Charles S. and Hannah Singleton Sin-gleton Price. They moved to Beaver County as LDS converts. con-verts. Their first home was in. Greenville. She married Fred R. Pryor of Holt, Mo., in May, 1898. He was teaching school in Greenville Green-ville and Mrs. Nolder was one of his students, After their marriage they moved to the mining town of Frisco, and in 1900 moved to Minersville, where Mr, Pryor was justice of the peace and county school superintendent until 1906, In 1908 they moved to Milford where Mr, Pryor was principal of the public school. Returning to Minersville Miners-ville the following year, they engaged in the mercantile business, bus-iness, operated a sawmill, and brick making machine. Mr. Pryor died in November, 1918, In 1926 she married Isaac Newton Nolder of East Elizabeth, Eliza-beth, Penna. He died Jan, 20, 1952. Mrs. Nolder, at 83 years of age, still makes beautiful rugs, crochets, and does her town housework, She has eight children, all by her first husband: Mrs. J. S. (Eloise) Murdock, Cedar City; Frank Pryor, Minersville. Bill Pryor and Mrs. Ambrose (Bertha) Dalton, Beaver; Mrs. Stephen (Patricia) W'illiams, Milford; Mrs. Ira (Helen) Larson, Lar-son, and Grant Pryor, Tucson, Ariz.; and Fred R. Pryor, Orem. |
