Show WATER CONTENT OF BEAVER SNOW ABOVE NORMAL Snow surveys for March, taken on the Beaver Mountain watersheds, indicate the best irrigation water supply in several sev-eral years, said Don Stevens of the Soil Conservation Service. Ser-vice. It was reported Thursday that at Big Flat, at 10.000 ft. elevation, there were 72 inches of snow and 22.3 inches of water. The 15-year average is 20 inches oi water. The 1062 total is 112 per- cent of average. At Otter Lake, 9,000 foot elevation, there were 64 inches of snow and 20.3 inches of water. wa-ter. The 15-year average is 16.6 . inches. The 1962 total is 122 per cent of average. At Merchant Valley, an 8,000-foot 8,000-foot elevation, there were 48 inches of snow and 15.3 inched , of water. The 15-year average is 11.1 and the current total is 138 per cent of average. Assisting Mr. Stevens in the survey were Max Phillips of the SCS, and Dee Ritchie and John Carison, forest rangers. |
