Show TELLURIDE TO SPEND MILLION FOR EXPANSION Telluride Power Co. today announced a $1V4 million 1962 construction program to expand ex-pand and improve electrical facilities throughout its service ser-vice area. This year's expenditures will bring up to $5 million invested inves-ted in new facilities for the utility since it became an operating subsidiary of Utah Power and Light Co. in 1958. Clair J. Hadley, Telluride manager, man-ager, said the construction program pro-gram was aimed at improving reliability of service through modernization of facilities to. bring the system up to high utility standards. In addition, Telluride's parent par-ent company, Utah Power and Light, has expended $14 million mil-lion for construction of a 230-000 230-000 volt line from Nephi to Sigurd as a main power supply sup-ply artery into central Utah. Mr. Hadley said major projects pro-jects scheduled for the Telluride Tellu-ride system during 1962 include: in-clude: Construction of a $327,000 twenty-three mile section of 133,000 volt line from Sigurd to Sevier that will give California-Pacific Utilities Co. a direct high voltage connection with Tellurides key power jun, ction, Sigurd substation. The project will also free transformer trans-former and substation facilities facili-ties for future load growth in the Telluride area. Construction of a new substation sub-station at Moroni and the rebuilding re-building and conversion to higher voltage of the distribution distrib-ution system in the Chester area. This will be the initial work in improving of facilities in the Maroni-Fountain Green area. Completion of the Delta substation sub-station rebuild. Expansion of McCormick substation capacity and rebuild eight miles of 46,000 volt Delta-McCormick Delta-McCormick line which has been exposed to heavy contamination. con-tamination. The new facilities will assure greater continuity of service. Increase the capacity of Brooklawn substation and improve im-prove and increase voltage in. the area's distribution system. Extension and improvement in Richfield distribution feeder circuits. Increase capacity and rebuild re-build Milford substation and some rebuilding of Milford's distribution system as the initial in-itial work in increasing city's distribution system to higher voltage. Relocation of primary feeder circuits on Salina's Main Street to aid in city's street lighting project. |
