We feel that the classes were very well received with 97 persons per-sons participating in the seven classes offered. We would also like to express appreciation to the following instructors for an excellent job Mr. Herman Coray (Spanish) Mr. Gordon Barney (Type) Mrs. Pat Rimpau (sewing) Mr. Richard Halsam (art) Mr. Wally Newton (ballroom dancing) Dr. and Mrs. David Symond (Psychology) Mrs. Sophia Ann Yardley (sewing). We were very happy to have two of the younger ladies of the community participating; Lulu Clay and Sophronia Hawley were two of the energetic students in the type class. As a climax to the adult education edu-cation sewing classes; the high school PTA sponsored a Fashion Show and Tea March 31. at the gymnasium to display articles of clothing made in these classes. Dresses were shown by the group taught by Sophia Ann Yardley; Home De monstr ation agent. Various articles of clothing were displayed by members of Mrs. Pat Rimpau adult education class and also by the girls taking Home Economics. The ballroom dancing class climaxed their final evening together to-gether by enjoying a Chinese dinner at the Hong Kong Cafe. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing and other entertainment enter-tainment at the Elementary School. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bell, former residents accompanied accom-panied Mr. Wally Newton and his wife to spend the evening with the group. We feel that the art class should be recoginzed for their outstanding accomplishments also. A great deal of time and effort has been spent by those participating partici-pating in the class. The PTA has made arrangements to have their work displayed next week in the I north window of Pool's Store so that all the members of the community might have a chance to see and appreciate their accomplishments. ac-complishments. If sufficient interest continues in the adult education program we hope to' be able to offer a ' more varied schedule of classes next year. |
