Show M H S HI-LIGHTS By the Journalism Dept. of Milford High School VOCATIONAL DAY On April 15 Vocational Day will be held at the College of Southern Utah. There will be a Fashion Show and Cake Baking contest with the Home Economics Department participating. In the Cake Baking contest, the cakes are baked the day before they are taken to Cedar to be judged. Also, the Industrial Arts department de-partment will be represented with the following boys entering: Carrol Davis, Lean Smith, Allen Mahoney, Brad Weston, Richard Bradshaw, Lowell Mellor, Stephen Clements, Oren Sly and Dick Rollins. Exhibits representing this department de-partment will be displayed, The Commercial-' department " will also participate with 1st & 2nd year Type teams, 1st & 2nd year Shorthand and a Bookkeeping Book-keeping team. "JUNIOR PROM" Friday April 14, at 8:30 is the date set for the Junior Prom. The Prom is decorated to the theme of "Orchids In The Moonlight." Moon-light." The prices are $1.75 for couples and $1.00 for extra ladies. The decorations are very different dif-ferent from other years and the Juniors hope everyone will come out and see how attractive the gym is ' decorated and enjoy themselves. The music will be furnished by the Haywood Orchestra. The Junior Promenade will be presented at 10:00. The Junior Class wish to invite everyone to the Prom on APRIL 14. ... - M H S Seniors Enjoy Sluff Trip to Vegas The seniors, sleepy-eyed, but excited, left at 4 a. m. the morning morn-ing of April 7, on their way to Las Vegas. The day started out rainy and cold. This continued until about 2:00 p.m., then it started clearing up but it remained re-mained chilly. There were seven cars carrying the 32 seniors. They arrived in St. George at 6:30 a.m. and were taken to Nellis Air Force Base at 9:00 a.m. and were taken on a toor of the base. From there they traveled to Hoover Dam and --took --took a tour of this spectacular construction. They had lunch in the Blue Onion Restaurant and then registered at the Wittwcr Motel. That night at 6:30 they left for the Thunderbird Hotel to have dinner and watch the show "Scandals on Ice." Don Cornel and Betty Newton also performed. Afterwards they went up-town to see the many lights and casinos. By the time they got to their motel they were all worn out. Saturday, a bright crisp day, was free-time for the seniors until 11:00 a.m. The heated swimming pool and the inviting sunshine added to their fun and enjoyment. They left for home at 12:30 and arrived in Milford at 7:30. Everone had a very enjoyable time. Those who took cars were Donald Rowley, Mrs. Merry-weather, Merry-weather, Mrs. Rummler, Mrs. Briscoe, Mrs. Gilliam, and Mrs. Cooper. Milford High Intcr-School Track Meet The Milford High School track team will have an Inter-school Track Meet Friday, the 21st. The coaches have divided our school into teams. The seniors and seventh, juniors and eighth, and sophmores and freshmen. These are the three teams. The events will consist of all track and field events plus a baseball throw for distance and accuracy, a tug of war and many other games to create fun and excitement. If enough girls express the desire de-sire to participate, they will be able to take part in the events. All girls are urged to take part . in the track meet. |
