Show on the week-end when he could have come. Included among the events enjoyed during their visit were a swim at the Beaver pool, followed by a ham supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon (Helen) Green of North Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Leon (Margery) Thompson were hosts to the family at a delicious turkey supper as another an-other feature of the get-together. Members of the family, in addition to those mentioned, are: Mr. and Mrs. J. B. (Myrtle) White and family fam-ily of Juntura, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonner and family of Minersville; Mrs. Phyllis Worthy and Shanna of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas (Betty) Peterson Pet-erson and family of Salt Lake 1 City; Bill Bonner, Grand Junction, Colorado; and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis and Miss Kenna Lou Kelsey, Minersville. Mrs. Kelsey had 41 of her posterity here during the week. She also has 36 grandchildren grandchil-dren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Armina Banks, returned home last week-end from a trip to Franklin, Idaho, where they attended a wedding reception for Cecil LeFevre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darell LeFevre. A 'birthday party was held Monday Mon-day for Garth Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karen Carter. He h a s reached the age of seven years. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Carter will be moving soon from the Cassie Mc-Knight Mc-Knight home to the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Ty Gillins and Susan visited in Sandy last weekend week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Myers, where DeWayne Carter and Vivie are staying, awaiting await-ing further medical orders. A vocal solo was given by Mrs. Alvaretta Robinson, accompanied accomp-anied by Mrs. Phyllis Truman. Stake President Wallace D. Yard-ley Yard-ley of Beaver presented the name of Kent Limb to be advanced as an elder in the LDS Church. Stake Counselor Dee Stapley also was present at the meeting. Other business attended to included in-cluded the release of Mrs. Yvonne Murdock as Primary president and the appointment of Mrs. Renee Davis, former counselor, to that office. Mrs. Leola Gillins was retained re-tained as counselor and Mrs. Lor-i Lor-i na Craw was selected to fill the other counselor vacancy. Mrs. Pearl Kelsey was retained as secretary. sec-retary. Wm. B. Stapiey of Orem accompanied accomp-anied his brother and President Yardley to Sacrament meeting in i Minersville Sunday evening and j an interview with him brought ! forth many interesting comments. 1 A jovial, energetic person, Mr. Stapley told of how much he en-enjoyed en-enjoyed getting reacquainted with his youngest brother Dee; that he felt families should visit more with one another and that cousins should love cousins as they did in the days when he was young. "I'd surely hate to be a young person today," he said. "Why, they have everything done for them! We used to make our own entertainment. entertain-ment. Mr. and Mrs. Theo Smith of Og-den Og-den was another visitor at Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday to renew acquaintances ac-quaintances of many years ago. Born and raised here, Mr. Smith is a brother to Elmo Smith of Milford. They had been there for a visit and decided to stop at Minersville. His father, the late George Smith, is buried in the Minersville cemetery. ceme-tery. His mother resides in Summit. Sum-mit. Mrs. Alta Kelsey had the pleasure pleas-ure of having nine of her ten children chil-dren unite in Minersville during the week. Two of her children, Betty and Myrtle, had not seen each other in 16 years and it was the first time in 20 years that they had been together. A son, Ralph, living in Salt Lake City, could not come during the week and some of the children had to return home ported. Accompanying the Gillinses to Salt Lake City was Mrs. Lillian McKnight, who went on to Tre-monton Tre-monton to visit her son Scott. He has been ill with polio arthritis, caused by infected tonsils. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bohn joined their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Kurtt Bohn of Las Vegas, on a thoroughly enjoyable trip through the southern Utah parks and canyons. can-yons. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Myers of Cedar Ce-dar City and Mrs. Sally Smith and son of Salt Lake City have visited recently at the home of their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Carter and family visited over the week-end in Monticello. Mrs. Nettie Myers, who has been a patient in the Beaver County hospital at Milford the past week, suffering from a broken leg, was released to her home during the week. Mrs. Alba Gillins accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Goldie Marshall to Ely, Nev., last week-end and vis- t ited with her daughter, Mrs. Earl Hayward, and family. An attractive headstone for the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dot-son Dot-son has been placed at the graves in Minersville cemetery by chil- I dren of the Dotsons. ) Mrs. Darrell Stephens, daughter Deloria and son are back in town after attending school and visiting visit-ing a daughter in Logan. |
