Show Resident Engineer J Named for Interstate i Hiway Work at Beaver State Road Commission officials have named Bert Swain as resident engineer for the new highway construction con-struction north of Beaver, according accord-ing to Earl A. Johnson, district engineer, en-gineer, whose office is in Cedar City. Mr. Swain will be in charge of the project located on Interstate Route 15, beginning 10 miles north of Beaver and continuing northerly for 8.5 miles. The work consists of construction construc-tion of a plant-mixed bituminous surfaced roadway and one concrete underpass structure 358 feet long. The contract was awarded to Wells-Cargo, Inc., of Las Vegas, Nevada and work has been underway under-way since early in May. They have 325 working days to complete the project. Mr. Swain, who has been with Utah State Road Commission for 14 years, is making his headquarters headquar-ters in Beaver. In his assignment here, Mr. Swain is in charge of construction, assisted by his crew of field technicians. tech-nicians. They will closely supervise super-vise the job and work with the contractor to see that work is done in accordance with the plans and specifications and with the least inconvenience to residents in the area and the traveling public.
