Show SEGO LILY DIVISION INSTALS NEW OFFICERS Sego Lily Division held regular business meeting and installation of new officers Jan. 9th at the home of Mrs. Wanda Holm. Officers installed are: Florence Barnes, R. A. secre tary; Magdalcna White, past president; pres-ident; Katherine Shingleton, president; pres-ident; Marvel Council, vice president; presi-dent; Wanda Holm, secretary; Garnetta Hollis, treasurer; Ethel Killam, chaplain; Ethel- Smith, guide; Kate McDonald, sentinel. Mrs. Holm, having previously received a past president's pin, was tendered a lovely gift from the Division. Di-vision. She presented each member mem-ber with a nice apron. A delicious dinner was served by the hostesses, Wanda Holm and Katherine. Committees named by the new president, Mrs. Shingleton, include: in-clude: Sick committee Garnetta Hollis Hol-lis and Wanda Holm; Auditing, Garnet Garfield, Florence Barnes. Margaret Lund and Lois Moore; Ethel Smith, reporter. The rest of the evening was spent playing cards. Mrs. Ruby James and Mrs. Molly Schnacken-berg Schnacken-berg were guests. Prizes were won b(- Garnet Garfield, Ruby James, Magdalena White, Molly Schnack-enberg Schnack-enberg and Ethel Smith. Mrs. Mae Colburn of Cedar City, a member of Sego Lily, was also present. SOROITY MEETS The regular monthly meeting of the E S A Sorority was held at the home of Mrs. Melba White, with Margaret Mahoney, president, presi-dent, conducting the meeting. Fifteen members were present. Very interesting lessons on Holland Hol-land were given by the hostesses, Verle Horton and Melba White. Mitchell Fisher of the elementary element-ary school showed a March ol Dimes film, after which refreshments refresh-ments were served. BRIDGE CLUB MEETS Mrs. Marjorie Mecham had as her guests members of her bridge club last Thursday evening. Prize winners at cards included Mrs. Joan Holland, Mrs. Marjorie Harton and Mrs. Ann Bolton. Other players were Mrs. '. Eva Banks, Mrs. Bonnie Easton, Mrs. Evelyn Wiseman, Mrs. Pat Johnson John-son and Mrs. Luella Fisher. PINOCHLE CLUB Last Wednesday evening pinochle pi-nochle was played at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Harton by Mrs. Mollie Schnackenberg, Mrs. Ferl Bown, Mrs. Pauline Rummler, Mrs. Billie Stoker, Mrs. Ann Bird, Mrs. Enid Cook, Mrs. Serelda Fernley and Mrs. Helen Bolton. The prize winners were Mrs. Bird, Mrs. Stoker and Mrs. Schnackenberg. ENTERTAINS 500 CLUB Iola Carter was hostess to her 500 club last week. Enjoying the evening of cards were Mrs. Sophia Johnson, Mrs. Laura Lorentz, Mrs. Essie Thompson, Mrs. Ver-netta Ver-netta McKnight and Mrs. Florence Beard. The prizes went to Mrs. Lorentz, Lo-rentz, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. McKnight. FETED ON ANNIVERSARY Neighbors and relatives surprising sur-prising Mrs. Flossie Rickerson on her birth anniversary by dropping in at her home last Saturday evening eve-ning were Mrs. Essie Thompson, Mrs. Maude MiUs, Mrs. Mollie Schnackenberg, Mrs. Marjorie Harton, Mrs. Afton Nielsen, Mrs. Jessie Williams, Mrs. LaPrele Lewis, and Mrs. Louree Moore of Salt Lake. After a social evening, refreshments refresh-ments brought toy the guests were served. AUXILIARY MEETS Escalante Auxiliary 1546 to the Veterans of Foreign Wars met at the home of Lillian Atkin, Jan. 13, with Mrs. Myrtle Tribole, president, presi-dent, conducting the meeting. Ethel Smith, treasurer, announced an-nounced that all 1959 dues had been paid, and Magdalena White, secretary, advised that national officers of-ficers will be in Salt Lake Jan. 21 and 22. A delicious salad course was served by Mrs. Atkin to the above ladies and 'Nina Bingham, Susan Glenn, Sarah A. Griffiths, Francis Kinross, Cora Jones, Theresa Pitchforth and Hannah Smith. |
