Show County 'Spotlight on Schools' Conferences Scheduled Monday Eeaver County School Supt. D. P. Pearce this week announced plans for county-wide partieipa-tion partieipa-tion in "Spotlight on Your High Schools Week," proclaimed by Gov. . Clyde as the week starting Jan. 12th. Representatives from each high school will attend a state conference, confer-ence, Supt. Pearce said, and also attending will be board of education educa-tion members and county administrative admin-istrative personnel. The state conference, to be held at the Highland High School in Salt Lake, Jan. 22, will featuie Dr. James B. Conant, president emeritus of Harvard University, as keynote speaker. It was emphasized by the Council for Utah Education, sponsors of the conference along with the Utah School Boards Association, that the conference is particularly designed for the lay citizens and legislators of all Utah school districts. Meetings have been scheduled in both Milford and Beaver for Monday, Mon-day, Jan. 19, in the respective high school auditoriums, starting at 7:30 p. m. Discussion will be mainly on matters pertainnig to buildings, curriculum, and finances. All residents of Beaver, Miners-j Miners-j ville, Greenville, Adamsville, Man- derfield and North Creek were urged to attend the public mass meeting at Beaver, according to Rex Carter, Better Schools Committee Com-mittee representative. Residents of Milford and South Milford were asked to attend the Milf6rd meeting and participate in the discussion of school needs and school problems. Heading the several discussion groups in 'Milford will be: Teaching Personnel Fay Thompson ; Curriculum F e r 1 Bown; School Organization Mrs. G. E. McGinn; Buildings, Mrs. Hilda Shields; and Finance John Grimshaw and Jesse Long. |
