Show BEAVERS LOSE TO PAROWAN RAMS by Brent Cartwright Beaver and Parowan met last Friday on the Beavers' basketball floor. It was. a hard-fought game with Parowan leading all the way. Both teams were working hard to gain a basket and just seconds before be-fore the first quarter ended, the score stood tied up at 14 to 14 but before it ended, Parowan put the score to 16-14. At the half the scoreboard had the teams 28-23 in favor of the Rams. During the first half of the game the band played, then during dur-ing the half the "B-Steps," Beaver Beav-er High pep club, performed. The Parowan team took a larger larg-er lead in the second half, and by the time the third quarter ended, Parowan was 41 to Beaver's 32. The fourth quarter found B H S gaining on Parowan, but the Beavers Bea-vers were unable to catch the Rams and the game ended with Parowan 54-45. Parowan's accuracy on the foul line provided Parowan the score over Beaver. They gained one less field goal than the Beavers, but gained 28 foul tries, while 1 Beaver made five out of nine foul tries. I Beaver lost two players, one on fouls and the other one because of an injured ankle. High score man for both teams was Kenyon Clark of Parowan with 18 points. Rusell Dean led the Beaver High team with 13. The team and townspeople were at a disadvantage after Parowan's score went to 28. After that the visiting team's scoreboard failed to work. Following the game the student council sponsored a free dance for all. Friday the Beavers "bye" but the following week they meet Milford on the Milford floor.
