Show Services Held for Young Lukemia Victim Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 10, in the Beaver Second Ward Chapel for Garth Murdock Smith, 8, who died Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Jan. 7, in a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital of lukemia. ' He had been ill about 18 months. Garth was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Cedar City, to Clark William and Alice Carol Murdock Smith. Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers and a sister, Benjamin, Michael, Johnny and Julie Rae, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. George C. Murdock of Beaver and Mrs. Ella Laub, Salt Lake. Bishop Chase Murdock conducted conduct-ed the services. The prayer at the home was by Aird Merkley, Parowan. Paro-wan. S. Taylor Farnsworth offered the invocation. Prelude and postlude were by Mae C. White Musical numbers were vocal numbers by a quartet, Kent Morgan, Mflo Baker, Esta Cox and Anona Swindlehurst; a duet, Nell and Hal Smith, and solos by Vilda Smith and Kent Hansen. Clara Carter was accompanist. ac-companist. Speakers were Norma Nell Smith, A. Carlos Murdock, Allan Reynolds and Bishop Murdock. Grant iEsplin pronounced the benediction, and the grave In Mountain View Cemetery was dedicated ded-icated by Raymond Laub. Pallbearers were J. C. Smith, Delmer Smith1, Sumner Murdock, Dale Murdock, Karl McBride and Dwight Carter. Honorary pallbearers pall-bearers were Hal Murdock, George Murdock, Steven Smith and Roger Rog-er Murdock. Flower bearers were girl cousins, cous-ins, neighbors and classmates of the deceased. Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
