LEROY HARRIS announce the marriage of their daughter, LaVee, to Mr. Gordon Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ford of Long Beach, Calif. The marriage was performed Friday, March 21, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Hartley in Ogden. Bishop William Stet-ler Stet-ler of the Ogden 24th Ward officiated. of-ficiated. The young couple will make their home in Ogden. Miss Roxy Paramore spent a few days in Beaver this week j with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kerk-siek. Kerk-siek. Roxy has completed her I nurses training and is now employed em-ployed in the L D S Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Parkinson Parkin-son attended the Junior Prom in Parowan last Friday evening. eve-ning. Their grandson, Jack Lister of Paragonah, is a member mem-ber of the Junior class. Mrs. -Jim Holyoak and three sons of Las Vegas visited over the week end with the Kent Morgan family in Beaver and wth Mr. Holyoak's 'family in 1 Milford. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Oakden the past week end were Mr. and Mrs. Don Oakden Oak-den and family of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Perkins and son of Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Williams spent the past week end in California. Cal-ifornia. Mrs. Colleen Norris and four children spent the Easter week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Ward. Fred Smith of Long Beach, Calif., visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Smith, a few days last week. Ronald Beebe o'f Circleville took the Smiths to hi home for Easter. MRS. KATHLEEN FARNS-WORTH FARNS-WORTH was hostess to the Beaver Study Club on Thursday Thurs-day afternoon. Ladies present were Mrs. Mae White, Stella Larsen, Pauline Firmage, Nell Biackett, Caroline Smith, Lottie Lot-tie Farrer, Alpha Stapley, Hazel Barton, Naomi Baker, Lucy Osborne, Os-borne, Melba Yardley, Ina Mc-Quarre, Mc-Quarre, Kate Reynolds, Vilda Smith, and three guests, Mrs. Eliza Gunn, Mona Lowe, and Mrs. Daphne Smith of Circleville. Circle-ville. Mrs. Caroline reviewed "The Song of America," by George Mardekiam. Miss Helen Patterson and Ruth Josepji of Salt Lake spent the Easter week end in Beaver with Mrs. Lydia Patterson and other relatives. Mrs. Wilford Robinson o'f Salt Lake visited with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Joseph from Thursday Thurs-day to Sunday. Mrs. Ella Perkins and son Jimmy of Los Angeles visited her mother, Mrs. Mae Oakden, from Wednesday until Sunday while Mr. Perkins attended conference in Salt Lake. Mrs. King Morris served a family dinner for the birthday of her father, Blaine Cox, Monday Mon-day evening at her home in Greenville. Mrs. Grant Esplin spent two days last week in Salt Lake with her sister, who has been quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Spa'fford, former Beaver residents now of Tooele, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Esplin en route to St. George to spend the Easter week end with Mrs. Spafford's mother. MRS. GAYE SEAMAN was the gracious hostess for her sewing sew-ing club on Thursday evening. She served dainty refreshments to Ann Swindlehurst, Carol Carter. Carol Smith, Maxine Barton, Faye Hollingshead, Ella Firmage, Vilda Esplin, Colleen Lee, Helen Lee, Nell Smith, Jewel Williams, Dorothy Johnson John-son and Gwen Lund. THE NIMBLE THIMBLE sewing club met at the home of Mrs. Beth Morgan last week, with seven members present. Enjoying the afternoon were Beth Dean, Mildred Atkin, Helen Williams, Betty Baldwin, Alice Gillies, Mickey Low, and Fern Williams. THE M M C CLUB was entertained en-tertained Thursday at the home of Gladys Oakden. Mrs. "Vee Murdock gave a travelogue of her experiences while living in South and Central America. Nineteen members and one guest, Mrs. Ella Perkins of Los Angeles, were present. Spending the day in Beaver with Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Kirk-ham Kirk-ham were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dellenbach and Miss Stewart, of Dell, Calif. Mr. Dellenbach was a missionary companion of Mr. Kirkham in Germany, and they visited here en route to Salt Lake to attend General Conference. Mrs. Barbara Bradshaw and daughter Margaret Ann returned re-turned recently from Phoenix, Ariz., where Mrs. Bradshaw was a special patient at a medical convention held there. While in Phoenix they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Barton and visited Mrs. Bernice Brooks and family, and all send regards to their many Beaver friends. Guests the past week at the home of -Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Gregersen were Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Brasher o'f Spanish Fork and Mr. and Mrs. J. Von Tip-pette Tip-pette of Salt Lake. Easter Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Puffer were Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. John Williams and families fami-lies of Minersville, and Mrs. Bill Murdock of Cedar City. After lunch the group enjoyed, a drive to Upper Telluride station sta-tion in Beaver Canyon. Former Beaver residents Bishop Bish-op Ralph McCloy and family of Bancroft, Idaho, spent the evening eve-ning last Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kerksiek. THE BEAVER LITERARY Club met at the . high school Wednesday evening of last week and viewed a film, "The Strange Case of Cosmic Ray," presented by Allen Reynolds, science instructor, in-structor, and two of his students, Lynn McKee and Jack Heppler. After the meeting the guests enjoyed a dainty lunch at the Mel Heslington home. Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Barton spent the past week in Logan and Springville with members of their family. |
