V THE LADIES AUXILIARY, B of LF and E, held their social meeting Friday evening. On the luncheon committe were, Mrs. Phyllis Erickson, Mrs. Jerry Memmott and Mrs. Eva Banks. Prizes for Bridge were won by, Mrs. Christie Lyman and Mrs. Alma Sly. Pinochle, by Mrs. La Vera Meeker and Mrs. Marjorie Harton. Attending were: Mrs. Faye Thompson, Mrs. Ann Bird, Mrs. Merlin Merry weather, Mrs. Afton Nielson, Mrs. Maude Mills.. Mrs. Winnie Johnson, Mrs. Maur-ene Maur-ene Miller, Mrs. Beulah Wunder-lich, Wunder-lich, Mrs. Gwen Ogden and Mrs. Virginia Fowles. MRS. LA VERA MEEKER entertained en-tertained her card club Thursday Thurs-day evening. The group enjoyed en-joyed playing pinochle, and prizes went to Jean Hanley, Maurine Miller and Amy Culver. Cul-ver. Delicious strawberry shortcake short-cake was served to eight guests, Phyllis Price, Dawn Miller, Ray Larson, Eloise White, Maurene Miller, Faye Thompson, Amy Culver and Jean Hanley. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Ellings-worth Ellings-worth of Twentynine Palms, Calif., visited Mr. andMrs. J. C. Handley from March 27th to April 5th, and the visitors and the Handleys drove to Salt Lake for a visit with Mrs. EUings-worth's EUings-worth's nephew, Herb Fowles. Mr. and Mrs Julian Arnold and children of Caliente, Nev., were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mills. Mrs. Thomas Acklin and children chil-dren enjoyed a delightful weekend week-end with Mrs. Acklin's daughter Dorothy, and family at Hurricane. Hur-ricane. Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. Nielson, spent the Easter week-end with Mr. Nielson's family at Leamington. Leaming-ton. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baxter, spent the Easter week-end in Salt Lake, visiting with family and friends, also visiting Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Lund and children, are visiting Mr. Lund's family in Phoenix, Ariz. Baxter's brother Charles, "at Coalville. Junior Old Timers and friends will be entertained at a dance, to be held in St. Bridget's Recreation Rec-reation hall, Friday, April 11, at 9:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Van Naillon and three girls, former Milford residents res-idents now living in Puente, Calif., visited friends here on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Connell were in St. George the first part of the week, attending the funeral fu-neral of Milton H. Moody and visiting Mrs. Connell's relatives. O Mr. and Mrs. Carl Merry-weathetr, Merry-weathetr, of Salt Lake City, were week-end visitors at the home oi the A. B. Merryweathers. Mrs. Larue Turner is in Salt Lake visiting a sister. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Griffiths, had as house guests during Easter, Eas-ter, Mrs. Griffiths' sister, Mrs. Roy Easton and three children, of Caliente, Nev. MRS. Rae Lar-sen, Lar-sen, Joan Holland and Amy Culver Cul-ver were the prize winners. A light lunch was .served to the above guests and Maurene Miller, Rosemary Davie, Jerry Memmott and Merlin Merry-weather. "Name That Tune," was the theme of the party held by Alpha Delta chapter of ESA, last Monday Mon-day evening, at the home of Enid Johnson. Everyone came dressed as a song title and all had a hi-.. hi-.. . larious time trying to guess the name of the song. Gwen Ogden walked off with the prize for the most original costume. No one could guess that the name of the song was "Shady Lady." Lola Banks was presented present-ed with a belated gift for her new baby. Games were played, followed by delicious refreshments refresh-ments served by the hostesses; Enid Johnson and Melba White. Those present were: Selma Kirk, Helen Banks, Gwen Ogden, Margaret Mahoney, Clea Wyatt, - Naomi Hughes, Verl Hortoii, Beulah Wunderlich, Rosemary Davie, Lola Banks, Lela Rowley Row-ley and guest Mrs. George. Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Burns of Salt Lake were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Holm, at a dinner, in their honor Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Barnes and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Garfield were also guests. Word has been received from Salt Lake, that Otto Steinboch, formerly of Milford, is confined in the LDS Hospital. Friends here, wish him a speedy recovery. re-covery. Mrs. Letty Fotheringham has returned from an extended visit with relatives in southern Calif. She also visited Mrs. Wade Coon, of Compton, and Mrs. Earl Ash-worth Ash-worth of Las Vegas. Mrs. Maurene Miller returned last week, from Gallup, New Mex., where she visited her brother, Wayne. Banks and family. fam-ily. She accompanied her sisters, Miss Gladys Banks and Mrs. Ruth Abegglen. e Mrs. Ella Nagley of Salt Lake, visited last week, in the A. T. Miller home. B of LF and E members will honor Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cook of Caliente, at a retirement party to be held April 18, at 7:00 p.m., in the IOOF Hall. Mr. and Mrs,. Mack Gillins, had as house guests last week, Mrs. Clyde Tanner and son Steve, Mrs. Claude Morris, son Paul and daughter Claudia, of Los Angeles. While here, they attended Conference in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fields and four children of Anaconda, Mont., were in Milford for a week visiting their nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cooper. They enjoyed a pleasant trip through Zion National Park on Easter. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Griffith visited in Salt Lake with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Griffith, and son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Miller, over Easter. Mr. and Mrs. John Nay were week end visitors in Milford at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Whittaker, and son, Deward Nay. Dr. and Mrs. Eugene N. Davie were in Salt Lake Monday, and Tuesday. They visited the Ambassador Am-bassador Club, while there, and enjoyed the singing of Nelson Eddy, who is appearing there. |
