Show Styles Signpost Tuesday, September 23, 1986 7B (cont'd from pane 6) making a subtle comeback, according to Elle magazine.) Accessorized wrists Wrists have yet to go even the slightest bit bare. Multiple watches, cuffs and wide bracelets are each and all worn at the same time. Headwrapping What's worn on the head has changed a bit. Hats are not being worn as often this season. Instead, headwrapping makes use of scarves, bands and knit pieces of fabric. Sheer black stockings Stockings can make or break the charm of any outfit. What's in demand now are legs veiled in black stockings that are almost sheer. Black matte stockings ones that are too densely black shouldn't be worn because they overtake the bareness or thinness at the top; nude stockings look like another era. Tone-on-tone neutrals In this season's colors, tone-on-tone dressing works best. You'll also find that black easily anchors everything, whether it's in clothing items or accessory pieces. Brown has made a strong comeback and has taken its place com fortably among the season's ruling dark colors charcoal grey, black and navy. Other popular colors are camel, cream, blonde, and green. Jewel-toned colors also make a stunning impact. Classic coats Coats still make the first statement this season. The polo coat has been named the coat of the year, according to Vogue magazine. This year you'll find classic styles simple cuts with none of the fancy detailing of past seasons. Coats are a little narrower fitted to the body and here again, wide belts fill their responsibility of cinching in the waist. Note that it's wise to invest in a good, top-quality coat, since it is worn more than any other item in your closet. Your coat becomes a part of you that people remember. (Have you ever tried to find a specific coat when you're looking for a certain person?) The length of your coat is up to you. However, longer ones are being seen a little more often. Femininity prevails In a season where so much has changed, having a modern sense of finish is what "best dressing" is all about. r- . , , , i i a ' i mm. i I 1 FINISHING TOIICHF.S fnr Vfllir warrtrnK.. .n.l.l. , j .. aiwuiuga vccnici, huu ingni; reu caraigan, gray f.
