Not only did we have some excellent scores for what appeared to be a difficult game, but for the first time in two weeks, a member of the Wildcat football team did not win the contest. Winning first place was Jeff Hinrichs, who finished with a 9-1 record. He missed only the Penn State win over West Virginia. Tony Caputo was a close second, with a 9-1 record, missing the Harvard victory over Princeton. Finishing in third was LeAnne Nielsen, with another 9-1. She missed only the Idaho upset of Montana State. Fourth place went to Cindy Largent, who also finished with a 9-1. Prizes may be be picked up in the Signpost office. Most of our so called "experts" did not come out looking like experts in their picks. Sports editor Lisa Wright finally got lucky and finished with a brilliant 9-1. Steve Largent had a dismal 6-4 record, as Princeton, West Virginia, Houston and Montana State all went down to defeat. He promises a dramatic return this week, as he said, "I cannot stand to lose twice in a row, particularly when Lisa Wright comes through with a lucky 9-1." As a result of his loss, Largent now owes Wright lunch and their head to head competition now stands at 2-1 in favor of Largent. John Peterson, the play-by-play announcer for the Weber State games on KJQ radio finished with a 7-3, while Weber State student Bob Bateman was finishing with a 6-4. This week's game promises to be more exciting than ever before. Included in the contest are two homecoming games, the Idaho State at Weber State game and the BYU at Utah State game. Also included are several games between nationally ranked teams and some key WAC and Big Sky conference games. With past experience in mind, it is too early to tell if this edition of the "Gridiron Game" will prove to be easy or difficult.Don't be afraid to try your luck, as you just might be the lucky winner of a 30 day pass to American Spa. The number of entries is increasing each week as more and more of you join in the excitement. Remember, the contest is open to all Weber State students, faculty and staff. Entries are due in the Signpost office by 3; 00 p.m. each Friday.
