Under work-study, students get an opportunity to earn money toward their educational expenses. The amount of the CWS award depends upon the students "finan cial need" as calculated by the Financial Aid Office. The college work study program has proven very beneficial to WSC. Eighty percent of the student's earnings are paid from a federal grant through the financial aid office, leaving the department with only twenty percnt to pay from its own budget. This saves the department $2.68 per hour and allow them to hire more help that their regular budget may allow, since five work-study students may be hired for the cost of one hourly employee.
