With the discovery of America came a new era of invasion, conquest, and colonization. As before, the manners man-ners and customs, and the form of government, gov-ernment, of the conquering race .were established in the new country. The principal Europenu nations concerned in this colonizing movement were England Eng-land Franc.-, and Spain, and accordingly accord-ingly the monarchical form cf g'overn-ment g'overn-ment prevailed on flic new continent, In the progress of time. America too advanced in civilization, and a very important im-portant development look place the change to a republican form of government-.
