Show Dixie High-College Meet Cedar Teams Fri. and Sat. Dixie and Cedar To Play Off League Tie Here Friday Night, Feb. 12 The Dixie high school team will entertain the Cedar City Redmen in a league basketball game here Friday night, and the college boys will meet the Branch Aggies here on Saturday. Both games will start at 8 p. m. The high school lads kept up their winning ways by downing the strong Parowan team here last Friday night, while the collegians col-legians lost at Cedar City to the Aggies 36-32. "Ax" Travels Often Judging by the way the ax has been traveling back and forth between Cedar City and St. George, it is Dixie's turn to win Saturday night. The game at Cedar was close all the way. Dixie started off well and led most of the way, but a last quarter quar-ter rally by the Aggies was sufficient to "put the game on ice. Mezzano, star forward, has received his call to serve for Uncle Sam. Joe will be lost to the team, of course, for the remainder re-mainder of the season. The Parowan-Dixie game was the kind the fans like to see. The lead see-sawed through the contest, with a determined spurt by the Flyers during the last few minutes determining the winner. Dixie and Cedar City are tied for second place in the league standings, a full game behind Hurricane. Each has won four and lost two. The winner of this game will be in a position to challenge chal-lenge Hurricane for the lead. Dixie, after her good showing against Parowan ,is favored; but a real battle is promised. The Dixie-B. A. C. combination is always a thriller, and the game Saturday night will be no exception ex-ception to the rule.
