Show Piano Students Play In Recital May 4 and 5 In spite of the many distractions otherwise, a large group of those interested in music assembled at the college auditorium Sunday afternoon, May 4, and Monday evening May 5, to witness the recitals of the junior and senior piano pupils presented by their instructor, Miss Ruth Falck. Both the instructor and her promising young pupils were warmly congratulated con-gratulated on their excellent performance, per-formance, and for the evident progress they have made during (Continued on page four) Piano Recital (Continued from first page) i the year, in this phase of their j education. ! Taking part in the junior piano recital Sunday afternoon were Jewell Mitchell, Pauline Hafen, Marilyn Thomas, Arthur Mitchell, Fred Pendleton, Russell Bateman, Althea Rose Nelson, Alta Mae Neilson, Renee Lund, Ora Lee Gardner, Junior Gates, Esther Judd, Gerrard Spencer, Beverly Moody. They were presented in trios, duets, and two piano selections, selec-tions, all of which were creditably credit-ably rendered. The program included in-cluded a wide variety of selections. selec-tions. Senior Presentation Presented in the senior recital Monday evening were Helen Grayce Bateman, Enid McArthur, Betty Lou Gardner, Vivien Snow, Lois Gardner, Pauline Snow, Evelyn Kunz, Barbara Bryner, Marilyn Cox, Flora Owens, Helen Cannon, Charlene Stirling, Alta Engle-stead, Engle-stead, Caroline Stucki, Ila Holt and Paul Thompson. Each of these young people handled their respective numbers with fine technique, and were heartily applauded. This program also included a wide variety of selections. It would be impossible to compliment any one performer especially, unless Paul Thompson, the only boy of the group were given the bouquet for his expert rendition of the paraphrase from "Rigoletto", a most difficult number, num-ber, and Miss Ila Holt who presented pre-sented the selection she will play Friday at the regional competitive competi-tive music festival in Ogden. |
