Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Hinton Reporter The elementary school, with La-Yell La-Yell Iverson, principal and W ebb Barber, music director, gave a very good musical program Dec. 21. Much credit is due Mr. Barber, Bar-ber, also the other teachers, for the splendid discipline maintained throughout the program. -Lafell Hal, son of John T. Hall, visited over the week end with relatives and friends in Hurricane. He is employed at the Ogden Arsenal. Mr. and Chester Snow and Mrs. Ray Williams of Kingston, Utah visited over the week end with their sister, Mrs. Gurnsey Strat-ton. Strat-ton. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stout and son, Gordon visited over the week end and spent Christmas with their children here. Coy Anderson arnveu ouumj from Ogden, where he has employment. em-ployment. He spent Christmas with his wife and children. Mrs. Glen M. Webb returned Thursday from Salt Lake City where she spent a week with her son and daughter. Conway LeBaron of Kingman, Arizona spent the week end with his son, G. L. LeBaron and family. Gwen Sylvester has returned to Ogden after spending a week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Roundy. Robert Stewart Stew-art of Ogden was also a guest at the home of the Roundy's. Coach Walter Brooks and his basketball squad left Thursday for a week end tour to Boulder City, Alamo and Overton. They lost all three practice games. Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Morrell of Loa, Utah are here spending the week with Mrs. Morrel's sister, Mrs. Frank Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Ermel Stratton and family of Cedar City spent Christmas here with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Jenson and fa mil v nf Salt Lake City spent Christmas with Mrs. Jenson's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Spend-love. Spend-love. The Misses Barbara and Flor-ine Flor-ine Tweedie spent Christmas with relatives and friends here. Mrs. Elaine S. Adams and Mrs. Doris Chamberlain entertained at a bridal shower for Mrs. Forrest Kleinman on the evening of Dec. 20. Mrs. Kleinman is the former Barbara Hirschi. Mrs. Ada Imlay had most of her children home for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Imlay and family were here from Cedar City. Florence Imlay came from Salt Lake City, where she is working; Pvt. Eva Imlay ot the W AC s was on leave from Camp Haan, Calif.; SSgt John Imlay was home from Santiago, Calif. Sgt. Imlay is, en-route en-route to Selman Field, Louisiana. Dan Daggs is home from South America. The family expect to make their home here. His wife is the former Wanda Bradshaw. Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Sand-berg, Sand-berg, Mrs. Joseph Webb and Mrs. Harold Reeve atended the funeral services of Mrs. Hannah Snow in St. George Sunday. The Hurricane high school orchestra orch-estra went to Bunkerville Saturday Satur-day night to play for the Seniors' Christmas Ball. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Larson left Friday for Provo and Logan to spend the holidays with their children. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gibson and family spent Christmas day with Mrs. Gibson's brother, Leland Stout of Kanara. Miss Leila Coleman had two rf hr hrnthprs from Teasdale as guests over Christmas. Jay L. Hinton is home on a one-week vacation from his employment em-ployment in Ogden. Mrs. Harold Glore, the former Shirley Spendlove, was here during dur-ing the week to spend Christmas with her father's family, George I. Spendlove. Her husband is in the Philippine Islands. Mrs. Harry Canfield, the former form-er LaVerde Wright, spent the week end and Christmas day with friends and relatives here. Thomas Stratton and Mrs. Fern Jackson were married at I Las Vegas last Saturday. |
