That is what happened to Mack Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Morris of St. George, who was raised to the rating of TSgt. enroute to England. His parents have just been advised ad-vised of his safe arrival in England. Eng-land. He says he had a wonderful voyage and is greatly interested in the English architecture. It is different than he had anticipated. Si Pa On Furlough Pvt Leonard Wilcox arrived home Dec. 19, from Pratt, Kansas to spend the holidays with his mother, Thelma Wilcox and other family members in Virgin. He has been granted a 16 day furlough, fur-lough, having recently completed a three months course in aircraft engineering. Being home for the Christmas Season once again is the desire of every service man and Pvt. Wilcox feels he was lucky to have that privilege this year. I Pa Pa Transferred Pvt. Sheldon Johnson arrived early Tuesday morning for a belated be-lated Christmas visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Johnson and other family members. mem-bers. His coming was a complete surprise to the family, but gave him a chance to visit his sister, Meta, who returns this week end to the B. Y. U., Provo. He is on transfer orders from Camp Wol-ters, Wol-ters, Texas to Fort Ord, Calif. Pa Pa Pa I In Ascension Islands Pvt. Wm. H. Briggs says his location in the Ascension Islands reminds him of the country around Dameron Valley so he shouldn't get lonesome, but the home folks aren't there. However he is busy nd that helps a lot. He has been overseas five months. Pa Pa Pa Returns to Farragut Neil Zamaloa S 2c returns this week to Farragut, Idaho for his next assignment, having been on leave for the past several days after completing his boot training with the Navy. Besides visiting in St. George with his mother, he has spent part of the time in Las Vegas with his father, Paul Zamaloa Zam-aloa and his brother, Arnold. His brother, Angel, is still somewhere in the Pacific with the 115th Engineers. Surprise If any mother wants a real surprise sur-prise party, she just needs to run smack into her serviceman son on some busy street, while she is feeling blue because she has just received word he won't be able to get off for the anticipated leave. That happened to Mrs. H. E. Brockmeier of Springdale and her son, Cox. T. W. Brockmeier, last Saturday in St. George. His coming gave the added touch for the Christmas celebration, says Mrs. Brockmeier. But they will have the real celebration when the other brother, TSgt Wm. Brockmeier, also comes home from somewhere in Europe. Pa Pa Pa Visiting Visiting in St. George over last Friday and Saturday were Mer-ril Mer-ril Kunz CM 1c and Mrs. Kunz. They were here to get Mrs. Nettie Net-tie Morris, Mrs. Kunz's mother, who spent the Christmas week end with them in Cedar City. Mrs. Kunz is recovering from recent illness and Mr. Kunz is here from his Navy post on leave due to her recent critical condition. Pa Pa Pa In England Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cornelius of Virgin have word that their son, Sgt. Russell Cornelius has landed somewhere in England and will now undergo the required overseas coordination training before be-fore being assigned to actual duty. He is radio operator on a bomber. |
