Show Women's Committee War Bond Card Party Draws Large Crowd Tues. Sucess in a big way rewarded the efforts of the Women's War Bond committee at their party held in the Woodward high school gym Tuesday evening. Dec. 26. More than 500 tickets were sold for the event and at the conclusion of the party, enough funds were on hand for the purchase of a war bond to contribute to the Dixie junior college scholarship fund for returning servicemen. Mrs. John J. Phoenix was (general (gen-eral chairwoman and was assisted by a large committee. Special commendation was given Mrs. L. P. Vincent who had charge of ticket sales and program numbers from Washington; Mrs. Vernon Worthen and Mrs. Ward Ksplin of St. George and Mrs. Clarence1 Moss of Santa Clara. The hour's program which preceded pre-ceded 1he card games was in charge of Mrs. Mack Crandall. Miss Gai Graff read Iho script introducing the numbers, most of which were Christmas season themes. They included a parody on "Jingle Bells" by Olive Brooks, Joyce Bethel, Sharleno Snow and Miss Graff; guitar solo by Mrs. G. D. Hyatt with Wm. T. Morris accompanying; vocal solo, Leland Lamorcaux; brass quartette, Bert Hall children of Washington with Mrs. Hall accompanying; "White Christmas by a ladies trio from Santa CHara accompanied by Mrs. Moss; dance duct, Joan and Glen-na Glen-na Garner; vocal duet, "Silent Night" by Russell and Glenna Graff with Mrs. Vern Cannon accompanying; ac-companying; vocal duet, LiH'ille Snow and Fayonne Seegmiller; concluding sting by the girls' quartette, Miss Vivian Snow accompanying. ac-companying.
