Show Funeral Held Tuesday In Mesquite, Nevada For Arthur Reber, 50 MESQUITE, Nevada Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 26, for Arthur Reber 50, who died in a Las Vegas hospital Friday Dec. 22.. He has been suffering the past 18 months from a heart ailment. Bp. Max Hafen conducted the services with the American Legion Leg-ion participating. Music was under the direction of Elmer Hughes, the choir singing "Come, Ye Disconsolate," Dis-consolate," and "Beautiful Home" and a violin solo, "Whispering Hope" by Mr. Hughes. The speakers were Harold Reber Reb-er of Littlefield, Arizona; J. L. Pulsipher, Alfred Frehner and Bp. Max Hafen of Mesquite. All four told of their association with Mr. Reber, of his cxempliary life as a son, husband and father, of his honesty, moral cleanliness and cheerfulness. Eldest son of Samuel and Mary Ence Reber, he was born June 15, 1894, at Bunkerville where he had his schooling. On August 5, 1918, he married Leora Leavitt of Bunkerville, Bun-kerville, just prior to leaving for induction into the armed forces of World War I. He has been active in church affairs and as a member of the American Legion. Surviving besides his wife are eight children, Mrs. Marell Potter, Pot-ter, Mrs. Norine Marshall. Roma, Roland, Calvin, Ralph, Ilene and Arthur Reber Jr.; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ence Reber and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Julia Walker, Clarence, Clyde, Ralston Ira and Leonard Reber, Mrs. Vernon Pollock, all of Mesquite; Mrs, Iva Barnum of Pioche; Mrs. Leah Abbott of Nampa, Idaho; Caroline R.ebcr of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren. grandchild-ren. Many relatives and friends from eastern Nevada and Utah attended attend-ed the funeral. Burial was in the Mesquite cemetery. |
