Show Famous Singers To Be Presented Here In Concert Friday Night Willard Andelin, famous Chicago basso, and Miss Dorothy Dawn, first place winner in the national contest for high school singers, will be presented here Friday night in the stake Tabernacle under un-der the auspices of the St. George stake. Funds received by the stake from the concert will be used to apply on the Tabernacle organ. Both singers will be ac-1 companied by Mrs. Andelin. ' Mr. Andelin has been on one radio program for 10 years. He is away now on a leave of absence. ab-sence. He has sung on such famous fam-ous programs at the Real Silk, Armour Hour, Pabst, Maytag and many other similar ones. Miss Dawn was selected as the best singer in her home state first and then went to the national contest con-test where she was awarded the grand prize. A movie talent scout heard her and urged her to go to Hollywood for a screen test. From here they will go to Hollywood for the test. Both of the singers are accomplished accom-plished artists, declares Jos. W. McAllister, who has been instrumental instru-mental in bringing them here. Mr. McAllister was a member, with Mr. Andelin, of a quartet when both were students at Utah University. Uni-versity. Their friendship has continued con-tinued throughout the years and when Mr. Andelin knew they were coming through St. George he wrote Mr. McAllister with the result re-sult that they will appear here Friday night inconcert. Those who heard them sing are enthusiastic over the possibility of hearing them Friday night and urge everyone to attend the concert. |
