Show HURRICANE Miss Julia Whitney Reporters The Hurricane city library is happy hap-py to announce that they have just received word that they are now eligible to receive some books from the Carnegie Endowment fund on International Peace. Miss Verna Woodbury returned recently from a week's visit with her sister in Gunlock, Mrs. J. L. Bowler. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stout and family, who have been operating their sawmill on Cedar Mountain have returned home for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stout and family left Monday for Salt Lake City where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Wittwer and family left recently for Las Vegas where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hall of Salt Lake City are here visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Lafay-ette HaU. Miss Wazel Jepson, who is working s in Salt Lake, returned to her home Saturday, for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Jepson. Arbon Hall, who is working in Cedar City, spent the week-end visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Hall. Bert Adams, who is serving in the National Guard, spent the week-end visiting with his father, R. D. Adams. Harold Glower, who is serving in the Army at Fort Douglas, spent the week-end visiting with Miss Shirley Spendlove. Miss Barbara Tweedie, who has been working in St. George for the past summer, spent the past week visiting with her mother, Mrs. Flora Tweedie, before returning re-turning to St. George to attend college. Miss Merlene Stevens, who is working in Cedar City, spent the week-end visiting with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sevens. Merle Lemmon, who has been working in Grand Canyon for the past summer, returned to his home Monday. Miles Kleinman returned to his home Tuesday after recovering from an appendix operation at St. George. Alma Wright left recently for Salt Lake City to visit with his sister, Mrs. Everett E. Shay. James H. Jennings, who has spent the summer in Logan visiting visit-ing .returned to his home Saturday. Satur-day. Orien Ballard returned Sunday to Cedar City, after a short visit with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel L. Pollock Pol-lock of Kanarra were recent visitors visi-tors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Ballard. John Stocks of Las Vegas spent a few days here visiting friends and relatives and returned home Sunday with Kenneth Stratton. Clave Walker, who is working work-ing in Caliente, arrived Sunday to visit with his wife and family. Weldon Heaton, who is serv ing in the National Guard, Is here visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hinton. Mr. and Mrs. Abner Gibson and family will leave Friday for Los Angeles, where they will make their home. Miss Nathela Bundy of Mt. Trumbull is staying at the home of Mrs. Cora Brown. She will attend school here this winter. Mrs. Melvin Pierce and family of Tremonton, arrived Thursday for a month's visit with her mother. Marvin Spendlove of Beaver spent the week-end here visiting friends and relatives. James R. Chester, who is serving serv-ing in the Army at Camp Roberts, Rob-erts, spent Monday visiting with Miss Eva Imlay. Mrs. Durell Covington and small son, who have been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Leany, returned to Ogden Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. Harvey Dalton left Monday Mon-day for Salt Lake City to visit with her husband. Dee Calahan, who is serving in the National Guard, was here Monday visiting with his father, Frank Calahan. Mrs. J. L. Bowler of Gunlock is here for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Woodbury. |
