Show Hewell R. Frei Given Appointment To State Fish And Game Board by Governor Newell R. Frei, Washington County Commissioner and principal prin-cipal of the Woodward high school, was appointed six-year commissioner commis-sioner of the state fish and game board. The appointment of six-year six-year commissioner has in the past, always carried the chairmanship of the board. Mr. Frei's appointment was accepted ac-cepted by the Senate with only one dissenting vote when presented on the floor of the Senate. In barking Mr. Frei for the position, civic organizations and the Fish and Game Association of Washington County, did so because be-cause they have felt that this county has never been given a fair distribution of the funds collected col-lected in license fees. They point out that around 5)ffi in license fees are collected in this county, but only a small proportion of that amount has been returned. J. L. Wadsworth, president of the St. George Chamber of Commerce Com-merce and Wild Life Federation, who accompanied Mr. Frei north prior to his appointment, reports that Senator Claude Hirschi and Representative AllxTt E. Miller lent every assistance in bringing this appointment to this county. On the way north the two men stopped at the fish and game hachery in Springville. They report re-port that two more tanks of legal size fish are to be distributed in the county; one in South Ash Creek and Iyeds Creek and the other in Sand Cove. In addition to this there will be 20KK) finger-lings finger-lings planted in the upper Enterprise Enter-prise resorvoir. Attention of the fishermen is directed to the fact that this reservoir is not open for fishing this year. |
