Show PINE YALLEY Mrs. Elizabeth Beckstrom Reporter Elmer Boyle, a recent graduate of the U.S.S.C., is employed as the caretaker and fire guard at the recreation park here. Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Malchus left Monday on an extended trip through Nevada and California. While enroute they plan to spend some time with his mother in their former home at Long Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Crosby and two sons of Reno, were guests recently of his sister, Mrs. E.S. Gardner. Maxine Sullivan and Erlene Church of St. George, are making an extended visit at the home of their grandmother, Mrs. Emma Beckstrom. Mrs. Eula . Jacobsen and her mother. Mrs. Hugh Barton, left on Friday for Los Angeles to visit for a fortnight with Mrs. Jacobson's sons, Hogarth and Hugh, who have been attending U.C.L.A. during the past winter. Hogarth, who is a member of the R.O.T.C., will go into training during the summer and Hugh has employment in the city, so will not be able to spend their vacation vaca-tion at their home here as they have formerly done. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harrison and daughter, Donna Mae of Mc-Gill, Mc-Gill, Nevada, and his mother, Mrs. Louise Harrison of Lund, were visitors on Monday at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Effie Snow. Miss Lynette Ingraham has spent several days here this week on a vacation. Reed S. Gardner and sons, Reed jr. and David of Berkeley, William J. Snow Jr. of Washington, D. C, Claude Snow of Provo, and Gordon Snow of Salt Lake City are spending spend-ing part of their vacation here with relatives. Mr. Gardner is a brother of Rex Gardner, and the others are sons of Dr. William J. Snow Sr., recently retired professor pro-fessor of the B.Y.U., who was a' former resident here. Mrs. Malin Cox spent the week end at her home here with her family. She returned Monday to her position as County Recorder in St. George. All of the young people in town attended the wedding dance given in Central on Monday evening in honor of Mrs. Dwane Esplin, the former Miss Lou Slade of that place. In contrast to our usual hot dry June weather, we have had a number of steady, soaking rains this month. Wendell and Edna Rae Gardner were her for the week end to visit at the home of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gardner. Edna Rae returned to her position in the McGregor Clinic, while Wendell Wen-dell will stay here for a week before be-fore going back to continue his school work in pre-medics. He has been a student at the University Univer-sity of Utah during the past winter. |
