Show . Southern Utah Civic Clubs Meeting Hurricane will be host to an important organization on next Saturday, when the Southern Utah Civic clubs association as-sociation holds its monthly meeting there. This organization organiz-ation is recognized throughout the state for its power to get things done and for the unselfish labors of the men who give their time and energies without recompense to secure benefits for the communities and sections in which they reside. At one time St. George was one of the leading communities com-munities in this organization. Sitting as it does, as the gateway to this section, everything in a tourist line that benefits the rest of the southern counties likewise bene- fits us. And for many years civic leaders of this section recognized this and lent their best efforts to the promotion promo-tion of the Civic Clubs. That others think that this organization has merit can be seen from the way it has been copied. We now have a similar organization in the northern part of the state. Likewise southern Idaho has such an organization. And similar ones are reported from surrounding states. These may have been organized before or after the Southern South-ern Utah Civic Clubs, but the fact that they continue to function shows that other sections believe in them and back them. Because we believe in this organization, we urge that the people of this section attend the meeting to be held in Hurricane Saturday. We believe that you will hear vital problems discussed. Problems that are of importance to the counties represented and indirectly important to us. You will also hear Washington county projects discussed by Lawrence Wadsworth, Vice President Chauncey Sand-berg Sand-berg and other civic leaders. Plan to attend the "banquet in the evening also. |
