Show Packed House I Hears The Holy City' Sunday Final Chorus Wins Special Praise From Music Lovers "The Holy City", an oratorio bv N1 A. R. Gaul, was presented to a s" packed house in the Tabernacle last Sunday night. The oratorio was conducted by J. w. McAl 7, lister, assisted by Earl J. Bleak. i ' who conducted the orchestra and S Mrs. Mae Pace, who accompanied on the piano. The large chorus, consisting of j " college students, augmented by Qj townspeople, showed excellent ' tM training and sang the brilliant and ' ' inspiring numbers in a very pleas-ing pleas-ing manner. Especially brilliant was the final chorus. Mr. Bleak's coDege orchestra l did an excellent job in accompanying accompany-ing the chorus and in two special J. numbers. . The solo work and the ensemble numbers were all good. In fact, Ecc there did not appear to be a weak c spot in the entire production. The soloists included Junior "l Larkin, Marion Bowler, Me lb a Baker, Leland Lamoreaux, Mamie w Paxman and Margaret Jones. Those participating in the spe- tl cial ensembles, in addition to the soloists, were: Bob Inscore, Jay Huntsman, Enid. Webb, Helen Pec- ' INT tol, VerNell Chamberlain, Adrene ffe Cottam, Mary LoU Schmutz and : md Jane Pace. Such an oratorio at this time j of the year is very appropriate, ' , and it is hoped the venture will be repeated.
