Show I Republicans Back Claud Hirschi For Senator An Iron county Republican delegation dele-gation was in Washington county Monday for the purpose of securing secur-ing signatures on a petition for nomination for Claud Hirschi for State Senator. They found when they arrived here that Albert E. Miller had beat them to the act and already had such a petition out. According to Reuben J. Shay and Thel Bowman, Mr. Hirschi was not at first receptive to the idea of entering the Senate race, but when they insisted that many influential members of the party were anxious for him to do so, he agreed. In the opinion of Republican Re-publican leaders in both counties, Mr. Hirschi is an outstanding candidate for nomination. They point to his -record as a business, civic and church leader, stating that there is no one in either county that can show a better record or greater willingness to work for the upbuilding of this section. Mr. Hirschi has grown up and lived most of his life in this section. sec-tion. He is well acquainted with its problems and people. He comes in contact with all groups and has always shown a helpful interest in the problems of this section and its people. He is well known throughout the state and his ability is respected. |
