Show Washington County Group Recommends Removal Of 3,000 Doe Deer From Dixie Forest I A recommendation to the State Big Game Control Board that 3.000 hornless deer be removed from the Dixie Forest, was drafted draft-ed at a meeting of representatives of all interested groups held last night in the Arrowhead hotel. Information In-formation presented prior to the 'drafting of the agreement, in-I in-I eluded reports from practically 'every group that has an interest l in the game and stock situation on the forest. ' Surveys have been made of the ; range recently with the various , organizations being represented, j Information gathered from these 'surveys was proen'ed with the ; final conclusion of the representatives represen-tatives being that it was imperative impera-tive to remove the 3.000 doe deer. Recommendations to the board included the following: j That 3.000 doe deer permits b.- bsued in eon inaction with the r-T.ilar buck season. That th license be sold in connection with buck license for non-resident, S2.50 and resident, SI. 00. That the doe j licenses go on sale five days before the opening of the season : and if after the season has been l open two days, there are any J permits left, hunters may buy up to five each so long as the permits per-mits are available. I These recommendations will be considered by the board at its .meeting on August 3 in Salt Lake City. A complete table showing the number of deer that have been taken from the forest, in the last 20 years was presented by Blaine Beten-on, forest supervi-or. This table showed that 20.050 deer have been removed from the forest and yet last year shower the highest percentage of hunters getting their deer with 2.100 bucks being taken by 2.450 hunters.
