Show East Ward Holds First Ward Conference Since Reorganization Being now fully 'organized, the St. George east ward held their first ward conference under the new division, Sunday, July 14, in the Recreation hall, with a large attendance reported at the 6, p.m. meeting. Bp. Wilford Schmutz conducted the program, under the direction of Pres. H. S. Snow. Brief talks were made by the newly appointed officers of the ward, including Bp. Wilford Schmutz, and his counselors Arthur Cottam and Paul C. Seeg-miller, Seeg-miller, Clerk Clair S. Terry, and department leaders Anson B. Call Jr., of Young Men; Lola Mc-Arthur, Mc-Arthur, of Y.L.M.I.A.; Emma Mc-Arthur, Mc-Arthur, of the relief society; Gerald Seegmiller of the genealogy; genea-logy; Phillip Foremaster of the Sunday school and Verna Hiatt, of the primary. Stake missionaries attending the Center ward services were Maurice J. Miles, who talked on recreation propects and accomplisments anticipated; anti-cipated; and Willis R. Dunkley, who emphasized the values of religious re-ligious opportunity and training in the lives of members. Stanley and Ray Schmutz, with Mary Lou Wells as accompanist, rendered a saxophone duet. Stake missionaries attending the west ward services included Walter Wal-ter A. Pace and Woodruff Cannon. A large attendance is reported. Melvin J. Hamilton was the missionary speaker at the south ward services with a large attendance at-tendance reported. - |
