Show Short Creek, Ariz. Mrs. I. V. Carling Reporter Elva Carling and family, who have spent the past two months at Lyman, Wyo., returned home last week. Sherling Black, who has been working at Canaan ranch, is home again. Leonard, Warren, Marvin Black and James Cox made a trip to Cedar City Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Johnson, Mrs. Jack Fish and children went to Hurricane Sunday afternoon. George Bernell, who has spent the summer here and on Kiabab, returned last week to his home at Los Angeles. James Cox and Marvin Black left for Cedar City Sunday where they have employment. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stubbs left last Thursday for a trip through the northern states. School will start Monday, September Sep-tember 11. Elwin Pratt of Fredonia made a business trip to S. H. Potter's here Thursday afternoon. The Misses Jane Galespies and Daisy Bruce of San Francisco have vacationed this summer on Canaan ranch, returning to their home Saturday. Edwin Gudger and Sid H. Potter Pot-ter made a business trip to Short Creek, also visiting the CCC camp. Miss Jessie McDowell is terminating ter-minating a summer visit at the home of Dica Perkins, taking Patsy Perkins with her to her home in Aurora, 111. Guests at the chicken supper honoring the Misses Jessie McDowell Mc-Dowell and Patsy Perkins Thursday Thurs-day evening were: Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Adair, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Perkins, Mrs. C. H. Biggers and S. H. Potter. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sorenson and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hinton visited Mrs. W. G. Leithead at Canaan ranch Sunday. Erwin Thurston and family have gone to Ogden for a week's visit with Mrs. Thurston's family. The sewing club was entertained entertain-ed Thursday at the home of Mrs. A. H. Perkins. Mrs. C. H. Biggers will be our school teacher this year. Francis Hinton visited his wife and baby at Cane Beds over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Wright and family have moved here from St. George for the winter as Mr. Wright is superintendent of the CCC camp. Lee Esplin and David Ballard attended Peach Day celebration at Hurricane, also the rodeo at Cedar City. Ernest Allen and family made a business trip to Short Creek on Thursday. His sister, LaVica, of Siggerd. Utah, was here visiting him last week. Dr. M. C. Grager of Honolulu was entertained by the Perkins family Wednesday. |
