They catch beautiful action plays, freak accidents, fumbles, penalty plays and quite a bit of rough stuff generally. The above pose, for example, is not one of endearment. Jack Williams of Santa Clara is merely using a high tackle to down St. Mary's giant, Mike Klotovich. Jack is probably saying, "Beg your pardon, Mike." And Mike answers, "Not at all. Jack" . . . maybe, but we doubt it. There are many variations of the fumble, fum-ble, but one variation is as costly as the next.
