Show LOCAL B. P. W. CLUB TO CELEBRATE NAT L WOMEN'S CLUB WEEK Plans were made by the local club for the observance of National Nation-al Business Women's week, March -16 to 21 at their regular meeting : Wednesday, March 11. The meet-ling meet-ling was held in the Dixie College Science building under the direction direc-tion of the finance committee, with Miss Mishie ISeegmiller in, ! charge. The committee presented Miss Linna Snow as the speaker of the evening, who discussed the subject, sub-ject, "What it Takes to Make one Happy." Other numbers on the program consisted of two banjo selections by Joe Talley, a vocal solo by Miss Mona Woodbury, and several musical numbers and a reading by members of the eighth grade under the direction of Karl j E. Fordham. "Happiness is not new." said Miss Snow. "We have always had some of its factors in our minds. Some people are most happy when they are miserable. Tangible progress in one's work gives a feeling of satisfaction that leads to happi-I happi-I ness. For this reason science and architecture are among the most I 'Satisfying professions. Unhappi-ness Unhappi-ness comes invariably from a feeling feel-ing of inefficiency. Having enthusiasm en-thusiasm is always a source of great happiness as is routine in one's daily work." And in conclusion, con-clusion, Miss Snow stated, "To be happy, we must have an interest in something in life, build up an affection, maintain health, be resigned re-signed to our surroundings, and build up a philosophy for the future." |
