Show Funeral Held At Washington For Mrs. Geneva Averett Funeral services ifor Mrs. Geneva Gen-eva Pectql Averett, 2 5, were held in the Washington ward chapel at 4 p.m., Monday afternoon. She died at the Washington county hospital Sunday from a ruptured appendix. The church was filled and there were many floral offerings indicating indicat-ing the respect with which the people peo-ple of this district held Mrs. Averett. Av-erett. "Though Deepening Trials," was the opening number and was sung by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Mazel Sprowl, Silva Jolley and Antone Nelson. The opening prayer was offered by .William Tobler. Fay Iverson told of his long association with Mrs. Averett and her family and said he felt it wa j (Continued on last page) GENEVA AVERETT (Continued from first page) an honor to be called to speak at ner funeral. The resurrection of Je.sus Christ, from the tomb was explained by him. Haven Paxman spoke of the mother love that she had for her family and the interest that she had to know the principles of the Latter Day Saints. George Worthen attempted to comfort those bereaved. He also directed attention to her strong faith in prayer and declared that he knew that she would enjoy all the glory and honor in store for her in her afterlife. Closing remarks were given by ISishop Wallace Iverson. He expressed ex-pressed Mrs. Averett's interest in having her family receive the gospel gos-pel messages. .Musical numbers were, "I Know that my Redeemer Lives," "Sometime, "Some-time, Somewhere," and a duet by Mr. and Mrs. Mazel Sprowl. Closing Clos-ing prayer was given by Frank Prince of Middletown. Burial was made in the Washington city cemetery cem-etery the grave being dedicated "by Vernon Wilkins. ! Geneva Pectol Averett was born January 3, 1911 at Washington, la daughter of Nellie Jolley and Roy Pectol. She was married to Frank Averett, August 7, 1928. To this union three children were born. Adaline, 6; Audrey, 4; and Frankie Jr., 2. She is survived by her husband and three children; child-ren; her parents and the following follow-ing brothers and sisters: Wan-J Wan-J less, Willard, Marcella, Rulon, Roy, Lafie, Mrs. Walter Olsen, of ! Pioche. and Mrs. I. L. Irvine of California. |
