Show Clean-up CampaignX Deadline Set For Wed. March 25th Wednesday, March 25-wTTf close the work on-the beautification j and sanitation contest. Much has I been done and is being done but the committee in charge announced announc-ed that there is still plenty of cleaning, planting, painting, etc. to be done. The judges will give their decision decis-ion of the winners in time to he published in the March 2 6 issue of the News. First and second places will be given to the section, sec-tion, block and the individual making the most improvement since the contest started. Attention is called by the judges to the need for some of the business busi-ness houses to clean up their back yards. To date they state that north east part of town has shown the greatest improvement. Particularly Partic-ularly the part located north of the highway. City Day Saturday, March 28 will be city day and all men who are able to work, and business houses are asked to contribute a man's time, to work on either the city streets, park, cemetery or the Sugar loaf road. Free lunch will be served by the ladies of the Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary at the park at noon. Free admission to the winning section, block, and lot will be given giv-en to the dance which will be held Saturday evening in the college gymnasium. The committee points out that there is yet time to help your section win. The list of plants and shrubs etc., that people have to give away will be in the Library on the bill board, just inside the door, Mrs. Roxie Romney announced. |
