Show Letters To Hews Tell Of Interest Of Readers In Dixie Proof that those who have left Dixie are still interested in it and the news from here as published in the News, is seen in the many letters received by this office commenting com-menting on the various changes here and on the "fine paper" that is now being published. Dr. A. L. Mann of Chicago writes as follows: News Editor St. George, Utah Dear Editor: The News arrives regularly, every copy is read and proves interesting. in-teresting. Every once in a while I come across a name or an item which carries me back to old days. Wishing you and the News and St. George and Dixie continued con-tinued success and prosperity. Very sincerely yours, Dr. A. L. Mann Clair Judd Writes Clair W. Judd sent the News the following letter: Dear Sirs: I just want to drop a line to let you know how we, my wife and I, have enjoyed the home paper while we are here in Chicago, also to tell you the change of address. Please send the paper directly to Rush Medical School, so I will get it regardless of the amount of times I move about. I appreciate the Home paper more now than I ever have. Although I am two thousand miles from ' home I still know what is going on in Dixie. I look forward to receiving re-ceiving my edition every week. School is closed here and will not open until October 1st. I am making up a week of Obstectrics that I missed while the folks were here. When my six weeks of active Obstectrical work is over I will have delivered close to fifty babies in the Presbyterian Hospital Hospi-tal and district service, which covers the near northwest, west, and near Southwest parts of Chicago. For one month during the summer sum-mer I worked nights at the First Aid Station at the Municipal Airport, Air-port, and attended school in the day time. I received some good experience there. Many times I was called to meet planes coming in with some one ill aboard. You can imagine the thrill that went through me, when the crowd was pushed back to make room for the Doctor, and it was I being ushered usher-ed up to and in the plane to examine the patient. Other cases that came in were people hurt in the factories, private homes, and Auto and Street car accidents. I am very thankful for that experience. ex-perience. I only have two more quarters to go before I have my M. D. I will finish here the latter part of March or the first of April, and then interneship. I haven't decided yet as to where I will interne, but will know within the next month or so. Thank you for the joy the paper has given me, and also the trouble in changing the address. Sincerely Yours, Clair W. Judd i |
