Miss Seegmiller's Fifth Grade Bobby Cannon brought us an oak branch that his mother brought from Anderson's Ranch. On it were two little red things that looked like berries. We wondered what they were. Olive and Chyrrel took them over to Dr. Beck's who told them that they were galls. He said that these berry-like things held the larva of wasps. He also told us that we could find similar things on the bushes on the hill. We were . anxious to find some so we went for a walk this morning. We found many interesting things. We also visited . the creamery at the ice plant. Here we saw how milk was pasteurized and how clean everything every-thing was done. We were very much interested because today we are doing some experimenting to show how to sterilize things. Mr. Cannon's Sixth Grade Along with our other subjects we are taking up three activity projects. They are the ways of living in the early world. First Aid and Fire Prevention. We have appointed committees to study upon these different things. Then we will collect each one and put them in books that we have made in each division. |
